Dearly Beloved

Is It Really Possible to Know the Will of God?
Dearly beloved of God, do we wake up one morning to flashing lights and hear a voice that says, “Voomba, voomba . . . this is truth”? Of course not! To learn we must have a reference for truth outside of ourselves. This is true regardless of our field of study.
The things of God are spiritual matters. As with any other branch of learning, if we are to learn about them we will first have to determine what we will use as our source, our authority for truth.
When it comes to spiritual matters, will our reference be the teachings of theology, religion, history, tradition, archeology, philosophy, a scholar’s theory, opinion, denominational doctrine, personal experience, or parental guidance? The source we utilize as our reference will determine what we believe.
Every one of these references for learning begins with man – not God. They express what they think about God. These references come from man’s point of view, not from what God reveals about spiritual matters.
If we are to gain God’s knowledge and His wisdom, we must go to His Word, and allow Him to speak for Himself. His Word is truth. His Word expresses His will to us. The only reference we can trust in our study of the spiritual realm is the Word of God, the Scriptures.
II Timothy 3:16
All Scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness
The words, “inspiration of God” come from the Greek word “theopneustos,” which means “God-breathed.”
When the tempter came to the Lord Jesus in the wilderness, the Lord responded to his temptation by saying, “It is written, Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceeds out of the mouth of God.”
All Scripture came out of the mouth of God, and it is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness.
The Lord Jesus Christ staked his life and ministry on the Word or God. He said that it could not be broken. He was willing to lay down his life because God had given him His Word that he would raise him from the dead.
Proverbs 29:18 Sanskrit
Where there is no knowledge of God the people wander aimlessly
Unfortunately, far too many today wander aimlessly through life because they do not know the truth God has revealed to us for our profit. However, with the knowledge of God’s Word anyone can learn about the Living God, and how to walk with Him.
Since all scripture is God-breathed, none of it is a product of man’s intellectual ability, or of his will. The scriptures are the Word of God, and it is the Word of Truth.
The Scriptures, the Word of God, is revelation knowledge from the mouth of God given to us for our believing. All other sources of learning are grossly inadequate substitutes for the Word of God if we are to learn about spiritual matters.
The Word of God must be our only reference for truth if we are to understand the Will of God concerning spiritual matters. If we desire to have answers about the spiritual realm and walk with the power of God in our lives, we must know and believe what God says.
Dearly beloved, the right way of believing comes by hearing, by hearing the Word of God.
