What Do We See?
Dearly beloved of God, sometimes in the struggles and sorrows of this life we are overwhelmed, and grow weary. In those times that we faint in our minds we need the encouragement of God’s Word, and the acknowledgement of our hope of glory in Christ if we are to endure unto the end.
Hebrews 2:5-9
5 Moreover, He did not put the coming world, about which we speak, in subjection to angels.
6 But one testified in a certain place, saying: “What is man that You are mindful of him, or the son of man that You visit him?
7 “You briefly made him lower than the angels; You crowned him with glory and honor,
8 “You put all things in subjection under his feet.” For in subjecting “all things” to him, He left nothing that is not subject to him. At the present time, however, we do not yet see all things subjected to him.
9 But we do see Jesus crowned with glory and honor, who was briefly made lower than the angels, for the suffering of death so that he, by the grace of God, might taste death for everyone.
Jesus Christ has accomplished God’s plan of redemption and salvation, but there is more of that plan that we do not yet see. He will accomplish all of it.
Today we have the new birth, which makes us the children of God, but the inheritance is coming!
In Christ we are redeemed, saved, justified, sanctified, and glorified. We are highly favored in the Christ, and because of his accomplishments we are God’s dearly beloved children.
In Christ we have access to the Father by the new birth spirit, and we are exhorted to come unto the throne of grace with boldness and confidence.
God our Father has forgiven us from the sin that Adam brought upon us by the riches of His grace which He abounded to us in Christ. There is no more condemnation to those in Christ Jesus.
God is for us, and He is with us. He will freely give us all things with His Son! In fact, in Christ He blessed us with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly realm.
He determined beforehand that we will be conformed to the image of His Son, so that he might be the firstborn among many brethren. We are identified with him.
Today we see these realities of sonship that Jesus Christ accomplished, but we do not yet see all things subjected to him, but it is coming!
Christ Jesus our Lord will return to gather us up to meet him in the air. The dead in Christ will rise first, then we who are alive will be changed, and together we will be caught up in the clouds to meet the lord in the air.
We will have glorious bodies like Christ’s glorious body, and the life of the ages. We will acquire the glory of the Lord Jesus Christ as joint heirs with him! He saved us from the wrath to come.
Later on, in the Lord’s Day, Christ will subdue every enemy; the last enemy to be destroyed is death.
He will carry out all judgement.
Every grave will come forth at his command, some to everlasting life, and others to damnation.
The lord Jesus Christ will fulfill every word of God. There are things we see today, and things we do not yet see, but we have the certainty of God’s Word that it will be as He has spoken.
Through the Church the multifarious wisdom of God is now being made known to the rulers and authorities in the heavenly realm in accordance with the purpose of the ages, which He accomplished in Christ Jesus our Lord.
Rejoice, dearly beloved, we see some things today, and we will see much more when Christ returns for us, and thereafter.
We will see all things put under the lord Jesus Christ. He will fulfill every last Word of God, and beloved, we will enjoy it as heirs together with him!
Comfort yourselves with these words until he comes, and faint not; he IS coming, and we will be glorified together with him!
