The Spirit of Sonship
Dearly beloved of God, since we have confessed Jesus as Lord and believed that God raised him from the dead we will be saved when Christ returns to gather us up to him in the air! Rejoice.
Today we have the treasure of the spirit from God in earthen vessels, but when he returns he will transform our bodies to be like his glorious body by the power by which is able to subdue all things unto himself. We will not only be with him, we will be like him!
In this current age of the grace of God and the mystery, each of us is sealed with the holy spirit of promise. It is the down payment and guarantee of the inheritance we will receive when Christ returns. Rejoice!
In the Law Administration perhaps a person or two had the spirit of God upon them, but the rest of the nation of Israel did not have the spirit. They were men of the flesh given laws to regulate their behavior.
During the Christ Administration Jesus had the spirit upon him, John the Baptist had it upon him, and it was conferred to the twelve apostles during the Christ's ministry, but the rest of Israel did not have it upon them.
After they crucified Jesus, God raised him out from among the dead. Forty days later he ascended into heaven, and God made him both Lord and Christ. On the Feast of Pentecost he sent the promise of the Father and baptized them with the holy spirit.
In this Administration of the Grace of God every believer in Christ receives the gift of holy spirit, whether they are Judeans or Gentiles, men or women, young or old.
We are born again of the spirit from God and we have entered the kingdom of God. We have the spirit of sonship. We are born again of incorruptible seed. We are sealed with the holy spirit for eternal life as joint heirs with Christ.
We will be conformed to the image of God’s Son, and He will freely give us all things with him. God has blessed us in Christ with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly realm. We are completely filled in Christ Jesus our Lord!
Each and every one of us have the same Lord, Jesus Christ; the same spirit, the gift of holy spirit; and the same God and Father of us all.
Each of us is endued with power from on high because of the spiritual ability resident within the gift of holy spirit.
I Corinthians 12:7 and 11
But the manifestation of the spirit is given to every man to profit withal.
But all these [the nine manifestations of the spirit] worketh that one and the selfsame spirit, dividing to every man severally as he will.
The New Covenant is a covenant of the spirit, not the letter of the law. This administration is much more glorious than any time previous. It is Christ in you, the hope of glory, dearly beloved.
The Lord Jesus Christ began this Administration of the Grace of God when he sent the promise of the Father, and it will end when he returns to gather us up to him in the air.
Until then God will work in us to will and to do of His good pleasure. He will bring the good work He began in us in grace to its fruition in glory.
Thank God for the good pleasure of His Will concerning Christ, and His great grace toward us in Christ. It will take Him the ages to come to display the exceeding riches of His grace in kindness to us in Christ Jesus. Rejoice forevermore!
Today is a new day, and Christ is coming to save and redeem us. He IS coming!
