Live in Peace

Dearly beloved of God, you should not let these troubled times steal your peace from you.

If you walk with God there will be very few times in life that you will be without challenges. One day it may be a virus, on another day job problems, the next day money troubles, the next it will be something else.

To walk with God you must be at peace, and to be at peace you will have to lead your thoughts captive to who you are in Christ.

All the great cargoes of life come over quiet seas. To hear God’s voice you must be at peace because God speaks with a still, small voice. If you want to hear His voice, you can’t be walking around condemning yourself, or worrying about what other people think about you, or have your mind cluttered with thoughts of worry, anxiety, frustration, or fear.

First and foremost you must believe who God says you are in Christ if you truly want to live with peace in your heart. Let me say that again; first and foremost, if you want to be at peace you must believe who God says you are in Christ.

You cannot be looking at your flesh, or your shortcomings, or at circumstances and be at peace. You will have to believe who God says you are in Christ instead of who you are in the flesh.

For example, you were made the righteousness of God in Christ. In Christ you stand before God without any sense of sin, guilt or condemnation. That is your reality now, so lead your thoughts captive to the obedience of Christ.

God doesn’t bring up your past, so why would you? Your sins are lost in God’s forgetfulness. He forgives and forgets. Imitate Him. Believe His words in Romans 3:21-8:39, and in Ephesians 1-3.

As you believe the words He speaks on the pages of His Word, it will be easier to hear the words He speaks to you as you walk with Him.

Frame your thinking with His words about who you are in Christ. When you think in this manner, you will be at peace, and able to hear His voice regardless of the situations that surround you.

Dearly beloved, God works in us to will and to do of His good pleasure. We become peaceful when we hear God’s Word. Believe it and live in peace.

God is your Father and you are His dearly beloved child. Pressures may surround you but you can be at peace on the inside.

Jesus Christ gave us peace, but not as the world gives it; it’s on the inside. Let the peace of God rule in your heart and practice the presence of God in your life, dearly beloved.
