The Lord That Heals Us
Part 2

Everything God made available to us is ours by the grace of God, and we receive it by believing what He says in His Word. This includes healing.

Mark 11:22-23: “And Jesus answering saith unto them, Have faith in God. 23 For verily I say unto you, That whosoever shall say unto this mountain, Be thou removed, and be thou cast into the sea; and shall not doubt in his heart, but shall believe that those things which he saith shall come to pass; he shall have whatsoever he saith.”

No man has ever seen God at any time, He is Spirit. The only begotten Son, Jesus Christ, which is in the bosom of the Father, he has declared Him.

Jesus Christ always did his Father’s Will. He healed the sick, cast out devil spirits, raised the dead, and forgave people of their sins. He demonstrated the goodness of God and His willingness to heal people.

Acts 10:38: “How God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the holy spirit and with power: who went about doing good, and healing all that were oppressed of the devil; for God was with him.”

Jesus Christ performed these healings by the power of the holy spirit that he received when John baptized him when he was about 30 years old.

That’s wonderful, but he isn’t on earth today. Is deliverance available to us today as it was when he was present?

Before he ascended into heaven, Jesus Christ said, "And behold, I send the promise of My Father upon you: but tarry in Jerusalem until you are endued with power from on high." Luke 24:49

"And being assembled together with them, commanded them that they should not depart from Jerusalem, but wait for the promise of the Father, "which" he said, "you have heard of me.
For John indeed baptized with water; but you will be baptized with holy spirit not many days from now. Acts 1:4,5

"However, you will receive power when the holy spirit comes upon you, and you will be my witnesses...." Acts 1:8a

Jesus Christ said that he would send the promise of his Father, which was holy spirit, and it would enable them with power, and they would be his witnesses. Earlier he told his men:

John 14:12: “Truly, truly, I say to you, he who believes in Me, the works that I do, he will do also; and greater works than these he will do; because I go to the Father.”

We learned in Acts 10 that he went about doing good and healing all that were oppressed by the devil. Here he says that those who believe in him can do the works he did and greater.

Jesus Christ said this in preparation of their receiving the promise of the Father, which was the holy spirit.

Jesus Christ fulfilled the law and the prophets. He died, was resurrected from the dead, ascended into heaven, and sat down at God’s right hand.

"Therefore, having been lifted up [into heaven] to the right side of God and having received the promise of the holy spirit from the Father, he has poured out this, which you see and hear." Acts 2:33

They saw and heard them speak in tongues, the wonderful works of God.

"Therefore, let all of the house of Israel know with certainty that God made this Jesus, whom you crucified, both lord and Christ." Acts 2:36

The people asked Peter and the other apostles, "What shall we do?" Peter said:

"Repent and be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ, every one of you, for the forgiveness of your sins, and you will receive the gift from the Holy Spirit." Acts 2:38

Three thousand people received the gift of holy spirit that day and they were forgiven.

The moment we confess Jesus as Lord, and believe that God raised him from the dead, we are saved, we are born of God's spirit, we are baptized in the name of Jesus Christ. We receive the gift of holy spirit that was promised by the Father and we are forgiven our sins the same as they were.

The gift of holy spirit is spiritual ability. It enables us to do the works Jesus Christ did and greater. The gift of holy spirit can be manifested, and when it is we demonstrate the works Jesus did and greater. Healing is one of those nine manifestations.

"However, the manifestation of the spirit is given to each person for profit." I Corinthians 12:7

I Corinthians 12 gives us information concerning these things so that we are not ignorant of God's Will.

"The one and same spirit energizes all these [manifestations], distributing to each person individually even as he wills." I Corinthians 12:11

Dearly beloved, we are exhorted to walk in the same manner as Jesus Christ walked. Why would God exhort us to walk this way if it were not available? It is available, dearly beloved of God.

The Lord Jesus Christ gave us the gift of holy spirit and it can be manifested by each one of us for profit withal, the same as Jesus demonstrated when he was on earth.

He enabled us to be his witnesses by manifesting power from on high. We are enabled to do the works he did, and greater.

Today we have the life-giving spirit of Christ in us! Rejoice!

Thank God for His great grace and precious gift. Deliverance is available today as it was when Jesus Christ walked the earth.

(In part 3, we will discuss other matters relative to healing.)
