Who Does What?
Dearly beloved of God, we walk with God our Father by believing. Believing comes by hearing the Word of God, and we respond to it having trust and confidence that He is able and willing to perform it.
Believing is a response of trust and confidence in what He says. We don’t “believe” to get God to follow our directions or to do our bidding; we believe the information He reveals to us either in His written Word or by revelation in specific situations, and we proceed to walk out on it.
If we are to see signs, miracles, and wonders we must believe God, that is, we carry out the directions He gives us. He is God the Giver. We are “believers” that listen to Him and obey His instructions.
Moses did not tell God to part the Red Sea, God told Moses to lift up his staff, and He parted the sea.
When God told Joshua to cross the Jordan He gave him clear instructions to tell the priests to carry the Ark of the Covenant before them, and as soon as their toes touched the water, God parted the Jordan and they walked over on dry ground.
We do not operate independently of God’s leading and guiding. Jesus said that he could do nothing of himself. He faithfully followed the Father’s instructions, one situation after another. If he couldn’t do anything without God’s direction, why would we think we could?
To walk by believing does not mean that we muster up some believing to get whatever result we wish. No, God informs us what is available by His giving of information, and we believe Him; we take Him at His Word; then God performs His Word.
Regular renewed mind believing of God’s written Word and the manifestation of believing both involve receiving information from God and carrying it out having trust and confidence that God will perform it.
Believing is not the magic of thinking big, it is listening to God and carrying out His instructions. God is the prime mover. He is the All Powerful One; we follow His lead.
If He tells us to fight against an army with 350:1 odds like He told Gideon; go get ‘em because God will take care of His end. He will lead, direct, and deliver by His Almighty power.
At times He told men to stand, and at other times He told them to run for their lives. At times He directed men to speak and at other times He told them to hold their peace. The proper response in a given situation is to obey God’s instructions; that’s believing.
First, we must know God’s Will, which He reveals in His Word and in specific situations He may give us revelation.
For example, if God says to be thankful, then believing is being thankful. If He says to pray, we pray. If He says to live love, we live with the love of God in the renewed mind in manifestation. If He says to forgive as He forgave us, we forgive. If He says to give, we give according to His Will. If He directs us to minister healing to someone, we minister it according to the information He reveals to us. We walk by believing, not by the magic of thinking big, dearly beloved.
God our Father is for us and with us whatever we may face, and He is able and willing to direct our paths. We must be willing to believe the instructions He gives us if we are to have the profit He desires us to have in our lives. We must remember who does what, dearly beloved.
