A Treasure Trove of Riches
Dearly beloved of God, the book of Ephesians is a treasure trove of revelation from God our Father to His dearly beloved children.
He reveals the good pleasure of His Will to us in Christ concerning spiritual realities in the heavenly realm; in fact He has blessed us in Christ Jesus with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly realm!
God our Father called us in Christ; in him we are holy and without blemish; God preplanned that in Christ we would be placed as His dearly beloved children; in him we would be redeemed, forgiven by the riches of His grace, which He abounded toward us, and sealed us with the gift of holy spirit, which is the down payment, the token, of our future inheritance until Christ returns to acquire the members of his body that he purchased with his life.
In the prayer to God, the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, He tells us that He wants us to know what is the hope of His calling, and what the riches of the glory of His inheritance in the saints, and what is the exceeding greatness of His power to us-ward who believe. Then He explains that power that He demonstrated when He raised Christ from the dead and what it accomplished in Christ and in us.
Dearly beloved, read the revelation God our Father gave us in Ephesians 1-3. The revelation given in Ephesians 1-3 concludes with a prayer.
For this cause I bow my knees unto the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, of whom the whole family in heaven and earth is named, that He would grant you according to the riches of His glory to be strengthened with power by His spirit in the inner man, that Christ may dwell in your hearts through the right way of believing, so that having a root and a foundation in love, you may be able along with all the saints to comprehend what is the width and length and depth and height and to know the love of Christ, which exceeds knowledge, so that you may be filled with all the fulness of God.
Now to Him Who is able to do exceeding abundantly above all that we request or think about, according to the power that works in us, to Him be the glory in the Church and in Christ Jesus unto all generations forever and ever. Amen
This is only a taste of the good pleasure of the Father’s Will concerning His dearly beloved children in Christ. What began in grace will continue in unending glory for us when Christ returns.
It will take God our Father the ages to come to display the exceeding riches of His grace in His kindness to us in Christ Jesus.
“The ages to come” are an awfully long time. “The exceeding riches of His grace” is a treasure trove of riches like no other has seen. “His kindness to us in Christ Jesus” is loving kindness and tender mercy from a Father that dearly loves His children beyond our wildest expectations. The Father freely gives us all of these riches to us with His beloved Son; such grace!
God wants us to know these things, dearly beloved, yet so many “Christians” don’t even know if they are saved or not, much less the exceeding riches of His grace, the exceeding greatness of His power to us in Christ, and the glorious riches of our hope in Christ.
Hosea said that God’s people were destroyed for a lack of knowledge; the lack of knowledge of His Word.
Dearly beloved, open the treasure trove of the riches of the grace of God toward us in Christ Jesus, and then may we open our mouths with all boldness to make it known. He is coming!
