Why Did He Give It?
Dearly beloved of God, “So faith (the right way of believing) comes from hearing, and hearing by the Word of God. Romans 10:17
God gave us His Word for our believing. We can have trust and confidence in what God says. His Word reveals His Will to us.
Ephesians 3:2-6 Working Translation
2 If in fact you have heard about the administration of the grace of God that was given to me for you
3 (namely that by revelation the mystery was made known to me even as I briefly wrote previously),
4 then you are able by reading to grasp my understanding in the mystery pertaining to Christ.
5 In other generations, it was not made known to the sons of men as it has been revealed to his holy [sanctified] apostles and prophets by the Spirit,
6 namely, that the Gentiles should be joint heirs and joint members of the same body and joint partakers of the promise [what was promised] in Christ Jesus by the gospel.
Paul was God’s apostle to the Gentiles. God gave him the revelation concerning the administration of the grace of God, the administration of the mystery. He gave him the gospel of God concerning Jesus Christ our Lord for our believing.
The books of Romans through II Thessalonians are God’s revelation concerning Jesus Christ and what he accomplished. They reveal what Jesus Christ accomplished in his suffering, death, burial, resurrection, ascension, and seating in glory in the heavenly realm for both the Judeans and the Gentiles.
God gave us this revelation knowledge for our believing.
God’s revelation knowledge teaches us that Jesus was the last sacrifice for sins forever. We are saved by confessing Jesus as lord and believing God raised him from the dead. In that moment we are born again of the spirit from God and by the grace of God we receive everything that Christ accomplished for us.
It reveals that in Christ and by his accomplishments we have the remission of sins, and we receive the gift of holy, which seals us for everlasting life. We are born again of the spirit from God, we have become His dearly beloved children, and if children, then we are heirs of God, and joint heirs with Christ.
In Christ and by his accomplishments we have entered the kingdom of God by being born of His spirit, and when the Lord Jesus Christ returns for us we will physically enter the kingdom of God’s beloved Son, and receive the inheritance.
Every spiritual blessing in the heavenly realm is ours in Christ, not only today, but in the ages to come. God our Father freely gives us all things with Christ! We are complete in him who is the head of all principality and power.
It will take God the Father the ages to come to display the exceeding riches of His grace in loving kindness to us in Christ Jesus. By grace we have been saved through believing in Jesus Christ. This salvation is not from what we have done; it is the gift of God. It is not of our works; it is by Jesus Christ’s works.
We are God’s workmanship, created in Christ Jesus on the basis of good works that God prepared for the Christ to do so that we may walk in his accomplishments.
Dearly beloved, believe what God says. He gave us His Word for our believing.
