His Word Will Not Fail
Dearly beloved of God, not one word of God will fail; every last jot and tittle will be fulfilled as He has spoken.
In the synagogue in Nazareth the scroll was delivered to Jesus Christ and he read from the prophet Isaiah. After reading Isaiah 61:1, and 2a, he proclaimed, “This day is this scripture fulfilled in your ears.” He stopped in the middle of the verse. He fulfilled “the acceptable year of the LORD” with his earthly ministry to Israel.
The Lord Jesus Christ will also fulfill the second half of the verse, “and the day of vengeance of our God….” That day will be fulfilled with his second coming to the earth.
Every last word of God’s Word will be fulfilled; you can stake your life on that. Every prophecy concerning Jesus Christ’s first coming was fulfilled, and every prophecy concerning his second coming will also be fulfilled.
The Lord Jesus Christ said, “Heaven and earth shall pass away, but My words shall not pass away.” Matthew 24: 35. He said this concerning his second coming to the earth.
Isaiah 40:8
The grass withereth, the flower fadeth: but the word of our God shall stand for ever.
God said it, that settles it; His Word will stand forever.
Isaiah 40:21
Have you not known: have you not heard? Has it not been told you from the beginning? Have you not understood from the foundations of the earth?
God made known the promise of the coming seed of the woman in Genesis 3:15. He is the one that crush the serpent’s head.
God made more known to Abraham; he looked for Christ’s day. He sojourned in the land of promise, as in a strange country, dwelling in tabernacles with Isaac and Jacob, the heirs with him of the same promise: for he looked for a city which hath foundations, whose builder and maker is God.
God made more known to Moses. “A prophet shall the LORD your God raise up unto you of your brethren, like unto me; Him shall you hear in all things whatsoever He shall say unto you.” Moses looked for the coming of Christ as Abraham did, “esteeming the reproach of Christ greater treasures than the treasures of Egypt: for he had respect unto the recompence of the reward.”
All the prophets from Samuel onward announced these days.
Isaiah 42:9
Behold, the former things are come to pass, and new things do I declare: before they spring forth I tell you of them.
Isaiah 44: 7
And who, as I, shall call, and shall declare it, and set it in order for Me, since I appointed the ancient People? And the things that are coming, and shall come, let them [their idols] show unto them.
God does not want His people ignorant about what is coming. The Word of God reveals His Will to us.
Acts 20:21
And He shall send Jesus Christ, Which before was preached unto you: Whom the heaven must receive until the times of restitution [restoration] of all things, which God hath spoken by the mouth of all His holy prophets since the world began.
Thank God we live in the administration of the grace of God which was a mystery until God revealed the information about it to the apostle Paul. The end of this administration was a mystery, also.
This period of the grace of God will end when the Lord Jesus Christ returns to gather together those that he redeemed. He will gather us up to meet him in the air. Both the dead in Christ and those who will still be alive will be gathered together.
There is no prophecy of a gathering together of both Judean and Gentile believers up to meet the Lord in the air; this was a mystery hid in God until He revealed it to the apostle Paul.
After the Lord gathers us up to meet him in the air, the times of coming judgment will begin to unfold on the earth; thank God we will not be here when it comes.
We have already been judged in Christ as righteous, and there is no more condemnation to those who are in Christ. We will never again come into condemnation. We have been delivered from the wrath to come.
Dearly beloved, our hope is to be glorified with Christ when he comes. Since we confessed Jesus as Lord and believed that God raised him from the dead we will be saved.
God called us to salvation; He called us to obtain the glory of the Lord Jesus Christ. Thank God for His great grace to us in Christ!
Every word of God will be fulfilled as He has spoken; you can stake your life on that. Our hope is in Christ, dearly beloved, and he is coming!
