Called unto His Eternal Glory
Dearly beloved of God, what is the hope of His calling? What is the riches of the glory of His inheritance in the saints? What is in God’s heart concerning our hope in Christ?
Ephesians 3:2-12 sets forth the Administration of the Mystery, which is also called the Administration of the Grace of God. Verse 6 reveals: “That the Gentiles should be fellowheirs, and of the same body, and partakers of His promise in Christ by the gospel.”
The mystery which was hidden from ages and generations has now been made manifest to His saints; to whom God made known the riches of the glory of this mystery, which is Christ in you, the hope of glory!
God will “…make known the riches of His glory on the vessels of mercy, which He had afore prepared unto glory, Even us, who He has called, not of the Jews only, but also of the Gentiles. As He said in Osee [Hosea,] “I will call them My people, which were not My people; and her beloved, which was not beloved. And it shall come to pass, that in the place where it was said unto them, ‘Ye are not My people;’ there shall they be called the children of the ling God.” Romans 9:23 - 26
Everything from its inception to the end of this administration was a mystery hidden in God until He revealed it to the Apostle Paul.
This administration began when the Lord Jesus Christ sent the promise of the Father, which was the gift of the holy spirit. By confessing Jesus as Lord and believing that God raised him from the dead we are saved. We are born again of the spirit from God, and in Christ we have a standing in the kingdom of God.
This administration of the grace of God will end when the Lord Jesus Christ returns for the Church. This is described in I Corinthians 15:51-54, and I Thessalonians 4:15-18.
Our glorious hope is the coming of Christ. When he returns it will be to gather together the Church, which is his body. The dead in Christ will rise first, then we who are alive will be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air, and so shall we ever be with the Lord.
The dead in Christ will be raised from corruption to incorruption. The mortal will be changed, and will no longer be subject to death. Both will receive new spiritual bodies.
Our citizenship is in the heavenly realm from where we look for the Savior, the Lord Jesus Christ. He will transform our vile body so that it may be fashioned like unto his glorious body, according to the working whereby he is able even to subdue all things unto himself.
We who have the first fruits of the spirit are awaiting the inheritance that accompanies our sonship, namely the redemption of our body.
Beloved, we are now the sons of God, and it does not yet appear what we shall be, but we know that when he [the Lord Jesus Christ] shall appear we shall be like him for we shall see him as he is. Every person that has this hope in him purifies himself, even as he is pure!
We are the children of God; heirs of God, and joint heirs with Christ. Those whom God foreknew, He also determined beforehand for them to be conformed to the image of His Son, so that he might be the firstborn among many brothers. Those whom God called those He justified, and whom He justified He also glorified.
The things we suffer today are not worthy to be compared to the glory that will be revealed to us. Our momentary light weight of affliction produces for us an eternal, exceeding heavy weight of glory for us.
Dearly beloved, our calling is “the high calling of God in Christ Jesus.” “He has called us unto His eternal glory by Christ Jesus….”
Our hope of glory is called the Day of Christ. It will be the day of redemption for which we are sealed with the holy spirit. It will be our gathering together unto the Lord Jesus Christ in the air. It will be the departure of the Church from earth. It will be when we will receive salvation. It is when we will be received up in glory. It is when we will receive the complete reality of the promise of life in Christ Jesus; eternal life, and glorious new bodies like Christ’s glorious body, and our inheritance.
Our hope is of glory, of life, of the exceeding riches of the grace of God in Christ Jesus, of fullness of joy, of rest not tribulation; it is pleasures forevermore in the presence of God, and so much more.
Dearly beloved, God exhorts us to walk worthy of the calling with which we are called; He called us unto His eternal glory by Christ Jesus.
It will take God our Father the coming ages to display the exceeding riches of His grace in kindness to us in Christ Jesus.
God called us to the obtaining of the glory of the Lord Jesus Christ; we are joint heirs with him, and the Father will freely give us all things with His beloved Son. He called us into unto the fellowship of His Son, Jesus Christ our Lord.
We are the called of Jesus Christ, beloved of God, called saints. Rejoice! God our Father wants us to know what is the hope of His calling, and what are the riches of the glory of His inheritance in the saints.
Dearly beloved of God, walk worthy of God, Who has called you unto His kingdom and glory; He called us unto His eternal glory by Jesus Christ.
We will physically enter His kingdom when Christ Jesus the Lord returns to gather us up to meet him in the air, and that will only be the beginning of eternity for us.
We will come back with the Lord Jesus Christ when he returns to the earth in the Lord’s Day. We will see the Lord subdue every enemy, and reign gloriously on the earth. He will carry out all judgment, and every grave will come forth at his command.
We will live in the new heaven and new earth under God’s loving kindness and tender mercies to us. He will wipe away all tears from our eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things will pass away.
Rejoice, dearly beloved, rejoice in hope of the glory of God; Christ is coming! This is only some of the hope of His calling. It will take our Father the ages to come to display all the exceeding riches of His grace in kindness to us in Christ Jesus.
Eye has not seen, nor ear heard, neither has entered into the heart of man the things that God has prepared for them that love Him, but He has revealed the hope of our calling in Christ Jesus.
God has only pulled back the curtain and given us a glimpse of the glory that is to come. Rejoice! Go, stand, and speak all the words of this life, dearly beloved. Tell others so they can share in the glory to come.
