God’s Goodness

Dearly beloved, God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the holy spirit and with power: who went about doing good, and healing all that were oppressed of the devil; for God was with him. The Lord Jesus went about doing good; he provided benefits that God wanted His people to have. He went about healing all that were oppressed or overpowered by the devil.

The Lord Jesus always did His Father’s will; He came to declare Him, to make Him known. We might say, like Father like Son.

God, the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ is only good. “Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, and comes down from the Father of lights, with Whom is no variableness, neither shadow of turning.”

By His knowledge, the Father gave us all things that pertain to life and godliness; He gave us exceeding great and precious promises that by these we might be partakers of the divine nature. That’s right, we are partakers of His nature by the seed of holy spirit we received in the new birth. God is our Father and we are His kids, and His resources are ours.

Our Father is the Father of mercies, and the God of all comfort. We are His beloved. His will is only good concerning us. He has blessed us in Christ with every spiritual blessing in the heavenlies by the good pleasure of His will. He has not changed today.

He has sealed us with the earnest of His spirit for eternal life. We are begotten unto a hope of living again by the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead. We have an inheritance incorruptible, and undefiled, and that does not fade away, reserved in heaven for us.

Beloved, until then we are kept by the power of God through believing unto salvation which is ready to be revealed in the last time. Until then, we walk by believing, not by sight. We believe His promises; He fulfills them.

He is the same God today that Peter talked about at Cornelius’ house where the first Gentiles received the gift of holy spirit. His resources today are the same as they were then, and they are still available to us.

Beloved, don’t faint under the tribulations of this life. The trial of our believing is much more precious than gold which perishes, though it is tried with fire might be found unto praise and honor and glory at the appearing of Jesus Christ; whom having not seen, we love; in whom, though now we see him not, yet believing, we rejoice with joy unspeakable and full of glory: receiving even the end of our believing, even the salvation of our souls.

Rejoice, Christ is coming, beloved, and when we see him we will partake of our Father’s goodness forever!
