Lots of Redemption

Dearly beloved, the Lord Jesus paid for our redemption with his blood when he identified with us in our weakness, but the final part of our redemption will be with power when Christ returns to deliver us from either death or this evil world and our humiliated bodies will be transformed to be like his glorious body.

The first part of redemption was through Christ’s blood, and it accomplished the forgiveness of sins for us according to the riches of His grace. Beloved, that is definitely redemption from bondage.

There is another phase of redemption that is yet future. Since we believed In Christ, we were sealed with the promised holy spirit, which is the earnest [down payment or pledge] of our inheritance until the redemption of the purchased possession, unto the praise of His glory. This will be the redemption of a possession, the body of Christ, which our Lord purchased with his life.

The day of redemption, for which we are sealed, is the day we will receive the redemption of our body, which is part of our redemption. Oh, what a day that will be!

Judean believers were looking for redemption when the Lord Jesus came the first time, and believers in the Lord Christ Jesus are looking for the second phase of it today.

Beloved, we are not only going to receive an inheritance, we are the Father’s inheritance. All that the Lord Jesus accomplished, he did to fit us for our inheritance. Between his first coming, when he paid the price of redemption, until the acquisition of his inheritance, God has sealed us for our inheritance with His spirit. Today we have the glory of the new birth spirit until we receive glorious new bodies like Christ’s on the day of redemption!

Beloved, the Lord’s portion is His people. In the Old Testament He took Israel for His inheritance and He gave them the land for their inheritance. Aaron and the Levites have the Lord for their inheritance. Ephesians takes us a step further; it reveals that the Lord has taken the members of the body of Christ as His inheritance!

Earthly events may be uncertain today, but our redemption is sure, dearly beloved.

Our glorious Father wants us to have the eyes of our understanding enlightened so that we may know what is the hope of His calling, and what the riches of the glory of the Father’s inheritance in the saints. Beloved, it is all by the exceeding greatness of His power to us-ward who believe, according to the working of His mighty power, which He wrought in Christ, when He raised him from the dead, and set him at His right hand.

Rejoice, our redemption draws nigh!!
