God's Bank Ain't Busted

Dearly beloved, is it the God’s will for His people to prosper? It sounds like a stupid question, does it not? His will is that we prosper, which means that we are led in a good way; that we are successful in everything, and, He wants us to be in health, even as our soul prospers or is successful. No kind of bondage is God’s will for us.

God does not change; His will does not vary from one day to the next, and He is light, not darkness. If you started in the garden -Paradise- and followed this subject all the way through to the third heaven and earth, you would see that His will concerning prosperity does not change.

Beloved, God rescued us out from the authority of darkness, and He gave us citizenship in the kingdom of His Beloved Son, in whom we have redemption through him.

Our standing has changed from coming under the authority of darkness to having been transferred into the kingdom of God’s Beloved Son. We changed citizenship, the same as if we had been citizens under a cruel oppressive tyrant, a dictator, like the one in Syria for example, and we became free citizens of the United States.

As citizens, we have a standing in the kingdom of God’s Beloved Son with all the rights and privileges pertaining to it.

Today we are born again and come under the authority of the kingdom of His Beloved Son, and at the end of the age when Christ returns, we will experience the end for which we were begotten from above; we will experience the physical entrance into the everlasting kingdom, having eternal life, and glorious new bodies like the Lord’s glorious body, and so, so much more. Such grace; but I digress.

There is much we can learn from the record in the book of Job. In a conversation that Satan had with God, he said, “Hast not Thou made an hedge about him [Job], and about his house, and about all that he hath on every side? Thou hast blessed the work of his hands, and his substance is increased in the land.

Satan actually tempted God, saying to Him, “But put forth His hand now and touch all that he hath, and he will curse Thee to Thy face. And the Lord said unto Satan, “Behold, all that he hath is in thy power…. [Hebrew: hand, put by the figure, Metonymy of Cause, for the power exercised by it].

Satan attempted to crush Job in an effort to turn him against God, but it did not work. He remained steadfast in his believing. Beloved, we may live in the world which is under the authority of the prince of darkness, but we are no longer of it; we are citizens of a far greater kingdom in the heavenly realm with access to the Living God and His Son. We now live under God's authority to bless us when we walk with Him.

“The Lord turned the captivity of Job when he prayed for his friends: also the Lord gave Job twice as much as he had before.” The Lord calls lack and sickness captivity. God blessed the latter end of Job more than his beginning.

Did God want His people to prosper under the period of the Law? Yes, the Lord their God taught them to profit and He led His people by the way they should go; if only they’d listened.

Even after forsaking Him, He said, “Return unto Me, and I will return unto you,” saith the Lord of hosts. He said that He would open the windows of heaven, and pour them out a blessing that there would not be room enough to receive it. He said He would rebuke the devourer for their sakes. He told them to prove Him by giving their first fruits. Read the entire book, there is so much to learn from it.

Beloved, we wouldn’t even know what prosperity is if He had not taught us what it is. He teaches us to profit. His will is only good towards us. Beloved, the Lord is for us, not against us.

What did the Lord Jesus say? “Give and it shall be given unto you; good measure, pressed down, and shaken together, and running over, shall men give into your bosom. For with the same measure that you mete [measure] withal, it shall be measured to you again."

What is God's revelation to us? “He that sows sparingly shall also reap sparingly; and he who sows bountifully shall reap also bountifully. Every man as he purposes in his heart, so let him give; not grudgingly, or of necessity: for God loves a cheerful giver. And God is able to make all grace abound toward you; that you, always having all sufficiency in all things, may abound to every good work.”

He will not only supply, He will multiply the seed we sow so that we are enriched in everything; beloved, He is our sufficiency. God has never changed His mind, nor His will towards us. He is the Blessor.

He teaches us to share with the needs of the saints, so we ought to share cheerfully, looking for ways we can be of service to our brethren.

The bottom line is that we should owe no one anything, but to love one another out of a pure heart; that’s the end of the commandment.

God’s will for His people throughout the ages has always been for them to prosper. His bank is stocked full of resources; physical, financial, and spiritual. Why not invest in His ways?
