The Work of God

Dearly beloved of God, the book of Romans concerns the gospel of God concerning the Son of God, Jesus Christ our Lord.

Jesus Christ met all the criteria of the One that was to come; his genealogy can be traced as a human being to David, and the proof that he was God's Son was that He raised him from the dead! That's a validation that speaks for itself. Hundreds of people saw him after he was resurrected out from among the state of death.

The high priest of Israel made sure his sepulcher had a great stone placed over the entrance to it, they had it sealed by Roman authority, and they set a guard to watch it until the required three days and three nights had passed since his death.

Jesus had been embalmed with over a hundred pounds of grave wrappings and spices. After seventy two hours he would have been mummified, but when God raised him from the dead none of these things could stand in his way.

No other words have such validation to their authenticity and validity and power as we read in Romans, which proclaims the gospel of God concerning His Son.

It should have a miraculous validation because it is this gospel which is the power of God unto salvation, whether one was a Judean or Greek in the flesh. Anyone can be saved by it. How?

This gospel reveals God's justness from believing unto believing, as it is written, "The just shall live by believing"! This gospel reveals the accomplished believing of Jesus Christ our Lord which made it possible for us to believe unto eternal life.

This gospel enables us to understand how God justifies a man so that he can live; not mortal life, but eternal life which only comes by the new-birth spirit.

Beloved, faith or believing comes by hearing, and hearing the Word of God. Hear this: if you confess Jesus as Lord and believe that God raised him from the dead you will be saved unto eternal life.

God justifies us by believing on His Son Jesus Christ our Lord. Salvation comes to us by the grace and power of God; all we do is believe that he accomplished what this gospel teaches, and we obtain it.

This gospel reveals the righteousness of God which is by the accomplished believing of Jesus Christ. He believed to accomplish all that God said concerning him; he always did his Father's will. With his last breath he proclaimed the triumphant words, "It is finished." He fulfilled all of the Word and Will of God concerning salvation. All we do is believe it.

"Being justified freely by His grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus: whom God set forth to be a propitiation through believing in His blood, to declare His righteousness for the remission of sins that are past through the forbearance of God."

There is no work to do, no law to keep, no religious service to perform: this is the work of God, that we believe on him whom God sent to save us; the only begotten Son of God. Such great grace!!! This just shall live by believing beloved.
