A Great Cause

Dearly beloved of God, God would have all people to be saved and to come to the acknowledgement of the truth. The truth He is speaking of is that of His Word.

Salvation is by the grace of God and by the work of the Lord Jesus Christ. He gave his life for ours so that we could have life and have it more abundantly. To be saved we must confess Jesus as Lord and believe that God raised him from the dead. This is the good pleasure of His will concerning us.

On the other hand, the adversary would have everyone distracted from the salvation that is in Christ and instead have them all concerned about saving everything else; from saving us from climate change, to saving the environment, to saving the whales, to saving the Redwood trees, to saving cats and dogs, to saving endangered species, to saving wet lands, to saving the economy, to saving the poor, and on and on it goes. These are all good causes but they have no eternal value.

One thing you don’t see many commercials about on T.V. is saving people’s lives from their mortal end and destruction in the grave.

The Lord Jesus said, “For what shall it profit a man, if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his own soul? Or what shall a man give in exchange for his soul? Whosoever therefore shall be ashamed of Me and of My words in this adulterous and sinful generation; of him also shall the Son of man be ashamed, when He cometh in the glory of His Father with the holy angels.”

Being concerned with good causes will not be of much value when the Lord returns to redeem those for whom he died. It’s a matter of knowing what is most important to the Father and staying on point to make it a part of our lives so we can make it available to others, beloved.

The Lord Jesus said, “I say unto you, there is joy in the presence of the angels of God over one sinner that repents.”

So, beloved, we ought to sanctify the Lord Christ in our hearts, and be ready always to give an answer to every person that asks us a reason of the hope that is in us with meekness and reverence.

Our hope in Christ is of salvation, eternal life, to acquire the glory of the Lord Jesus Christ, to be glorified with him, to have new glorious bodies fashioned like his glorious bodies, and so much more we can share with others.

Now that’s a great cause worth being concerned about!
