The Place of a Father

Dearly beloved of God, what place does God want among His people? He wants to have the place of a Father in our hearts and lives.

The last week of his life the Lord Jesus Christ said, “If a man love me, he will keep my words: and my Father will love him, and we will come unto him and make our home with him.” Jesus Christ’s Father loves us, and He and the Son made their home in us.

He said, “The Father Himself loves you, because you have loved me, and have believed that I came out from God.” The Father Himself loves you!

Jesus Christ prayed before his arrest, “…that the world may know that Thou hast sent me, and hast loved them, as Thou hast loved me.” How does God love us? He loves us as He has loved His Son Jesus Christ! We are as near His heart as Jesus Christ.

Ephesians is revelation from God our Father. We see that the God and Father of the Lord Jesus Christ is our God and Father. He wants to have the place of a Father in our lives.

Because of His love for us, He determined we would be His children, members of His household. He determined that we would have sonship in His family by Jesus Christ’s accomplishments, according to the good pleasure of His will.

Because of His great love wherewith He loved us, He made us alive with Christ and we have access to the Father by the spirit.
The Apostle Paul wrote, “For this cause I bow my knees unto the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, of Whom the whole family in heaven and earth is named.”

God is our Father and we are His family. He wants us to give Him the place of a Father in our lives.

We have partaken of the divine nature; we are the Father’s children, His household. We should give Him the place of a Father in our hearts and lives.

“Behold what manner of love the Father hath bestowed upon us, that we should be called the sons of God….”

The Father does not want us to serve Him as servants; He wants us to give Him the place of a Father in our hearts and love Him as He loves us. That’s all a father desires from his family.
