Christ’s Work, God’s Grace, and You

Dearly beloved of God, “I was crucified with Christ: nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ lives in me: and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by the faith [pistis: believing] of the Son of God, who loved me, and gave himself for me.” Galatians 2:20

By the grace of God each of us can say the same thing. According to Romans 8: 9 and 10, God no longer considers us to stand before Him in the flesh, that is, in our old nature. We stand before Him in Christ.

“If anyone does not have the spirit, that is to say, Christ, then he does not belong to him, but since Christ dwells in you, then the body [the old nature] is indeed dead because of sin, but the spirit is life because of justness.” Romans 8:9b -10 The Working Translation, Rev. Cummins

Oh, rejoice, dearly beloved! Since Christ dwells in us we have spirit life, and that life is eternal life. We received the spirit of sonship when we were born again. Now we are the sons of God and we stand before Him in Christ!

“For he [God] hath made him [Jesus Christ] to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him [Jesus Christ].” II Corinthians 5:21

Jesus Christ who knew no sin, became sin for us who were dead in trespasses and sins. Such grace!

We were not only dead in sin, we were ungodly, enemies of God, and headed into the wrath of God, yet by the grace of God and by the good pleasure of His will God determined that Jesus Christ would identify with us so we could identify with him in his accomplishments.

He shared with us so we might share with him. He became as we were, so that we could become as he is. We are completely united with Christ in his accomplishments.

We now stand before God in Christ without any sense of sin, guilt, or shortcoming. We are the righteousness of God in Christ.

In Christ there is therefore now no more condemnation coming to us.

In Christ we are justified, redeemed, and glorified.

We are as Christ is, complete in him, blessed with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly realm in him, filled with all in all in him.

It is Christ in you, the hope of glory!

We died with Christ, were risen with Christ, were made alive with Christ, raised up with him and made to sit together in the heavenly realm in Christ Jesus, and in the coming ages we will acquire the glory of the Lord Jesus Christ as joint-heirs with him because of the exceeding riches of His grace.

Christ sent the promise of the Father and we were filled with power from on high. We received the spirit of life in Christ Jesus. Since we have the Son we have the life that he came to make available. Now we have access to God as His kids by the gift of holy spirit that Christ sent.

“For if by one man’s offence [Adam’s] death reigned by one; much more they which receive abundance of grace and of the gift of righteousness shall reign in life by one, Jesus Christ.” Romans 5:17

Dearly beloved, God called us into the full sharing of His Son Jesus Christ our Lord; now we reign in life by him.

Rejoice, and again I say rejoice! All of this is a reality because of Christ's work, his accomplishments, and because of God’s great love and grace for us we have it all.

Walk in it, dearly beloved. Believe it, it is the revelation of God given to us for our believing.

God sees us in Christ; see yourself as He sees you.

Walk in the complete reality of who you are in Christ by believing it.

All of this was God’s idea! He planned for it, and determined it in Christ. It was by the good pleasure of His will, and He carried out His plan according to His own counsel.

It is all ours now; it's a present tense reality. Walk in it, dearly beloved of God.
