Campaign Promises
Dearly beloved of God, the answers people are looking for are not in themselves, and they will not find them in campaign promises; they are only in the promises of God that He reveals in His Word.
Isaiah wrote: “Woe unto them that call evil good, and good evil; that put darkness for light, and light for darkness; that put bitter for sweet, and sweet for bitter! Woe unto them that are wise in their own eyes, and prudent in their own sight!”
This could have been written today, couldn’t it? News flash; only God has the solutions that man is looking for. People scream for equality, yet they reject the equality that God provides them.
God sent His Son, Jesus the Christ to save man. Those who believe in him will be saved. The moment they believe in him they become members of the body of Christ, the Church.
Every member in this body is filled with all (every spiritual blessing in the heavenly realm in Christ) in all of them. Each member is completely filled with all that Jesus Christ accomplished.
There is no respect of persons with God. Each and every member in the body of Christ has the same salvation, the same redemption, the same new birth spirit, the same justification, the same forgiveness, the same sanctification, the same privileged access to Him, the same hope of glory. Jesus Christ will deliver all in his body from death; they will be transformed to have glorious bodies like his when he returns to save them. I would say that is pretty equal, wouldn’t you?
Politicians do their best to divide people up by race, color, income, gender, etc., yet at the same time they scream for equality with their race baiting politics. They say they will give us equality; they are liars and hypocrites.
God provided the only equality the world will ever see, and it is in Christ. He created one new man in Christ in accordance with the image of Him Who created it, where there does not exist Greek and Judean, circumcision and uncircumcision, barbarian, Scythian, servant, free person, but where Christ is all things and in all people.
The new man was created in righteousness and true holiness. If you want equality, there it is! God freely gives us all things with His Son Jesus Christ. Whether you are male or female, bond or free, Judean or Gentile; you are all one in Christ Jesus.
Mankind cannot give what only God can give. God would have all men to be saved and to come to the knowledge of the truth, but not all people want it. They reject His offer and go off on their own thinking they can do a better job than He can do.
God gave us all things that pertain unto life and godliness through the knowledge of Him that called us by His own glory and virtue. He gave us great and precious promises so that through these we could be partakers of the divine nature, having escaped the corruption that is in the world with its cravings. That’s the only way anyone will escape the corruption of this evil world.
Dearly beloved, socialism, democracy, totalitarianism, capitalism; no government can provide you with rest to your soul or peace in your heart. Dearly beloved, the world cannot give you these things; only Christ can.
Only Christ can deliver you from your fears and worries and anxiety. Only he can provide you with healing, even of incurable diseases. Only he can provide for you regardless of the government that rules over you. Only the Lord Jesus Christ can save to the uttermost and give you eternal life and the hope of future glory.
Let the lying politicians of the world make their campaign promises, but dearly beloved, take God at His Word. He will not let a single word of His promise fail. Every last word will be fulfilled as He has promised.
