Love Letters

Dearly beloved, what is our hope, or joy, or crown of rejoicing? Are not even you in the presence of our Lord Jesus Christ at his coming? For you are our glory and joy. What a love letter!

This was the heart behind the Apostle Paul’s service and it should be in our hearts as well. We speak the gospel of God concerning Christ so that others can share in the same glory and joy.

The Apostle Paul wrote to the Philippians while in prison and said, “What then? notwithstanding, every way, whether in pretense or in truth, Christ is preached; and I therein do rejoice, yea, and will rejoice.”

Further along in the same epistle he wrote, “Let nothing be done out of factious strife or conceit, but with humility of mind consider one another more excellent than self, everyone focusing not on his own interests but everyone even on the interests of others. Think in this manner within yourselves, which was also [the thinking that was] in Christ Jesus.”

We should be like minded, having the same love for one another, being of one accord, of one mind. Beloved, he was in prison when he wrote this love letter.

Our Lord said that they would know us by our love; the same love he demonstrated when he offered himself as a sweet-smelling savor for us. We should live with this love in our hearts.

His spirit will work in us to will and to do of His good pleasure; it will show us what is needed, and it will provide us with the power from on high to perform it. He has given us the power to minister the spirit of sonship to those who will believe on him. Love is the catalyst.

We can strive to love as Christ loved, or we can sink back into the clutches of religion; biting and devouring one another, comparing ourselves by ourselves, judging one another, thinking carnally, building factions, and failing to minister the deliverance and salvation that Christ died to secure.

We are members one of another, beloved. There is only one body, the body of CHRIST.

Let’s have the same care for one another, forgiving one another as God forgave us in Christ. Let’s speak the truth in love so that we can grow up into Christ in all things because he is the head that sustains all of us. Let’s be strong in the Lord; in the exerted strength of his ability.

Live love dear ones and so fulfill the law of Christ. Let’s be living epistles; his love letters known and read of all men. We are His dearly beloved; let’s live his love so that no one can miss it. Walking outside of love does not profit us.

He is coming, and the time is nearer today than when you first believed. Love while it is yet today!
