Peace and Comfort
Dearly beloved of God, thank God for the hope of salvation we have in the lord Jesus Christ.
The One True and Living God has given us good hope through grace in the face of our mortality and corruption.
I Thessalonians 5:8
8 But let us, who are of the day, be sober, putting on the breastplate of faith [believing] and love; and for a helmet, the hope of salvation.
9 For God hath not appointed us to wrath, but to obtain salvation by our Lord Jesus Christ,
10 Who died for us, that, whether we wake or sleep, we should live together with Him.
We have the hope of salvation when the Lord Jesus Christ returns. This should bring us great comfort and peace.
The ungodly do not have such hope [II Thessalonians 1:7-9]. They only have a natural, mortal life today and the wrath that is to come.
I Thessalonians 1:9 and 10
9 For they themselves shew of us what manner of entering in we had unto you, and how ye turned to God from idols to serve the living and true God;
10 And to wait for His Son from heaven, Whom He raised from the dead, even Jesus, Which delivered us from the wrath to come.
Beloved of God, we have been delivered from the wrath of God.
The One True and Living God called us to His kingdom and glory [I Thessalonians 2:12].
God called us, He justified us, and He glorified us with His Son [Romans 8:28-30].
God saved us, and called us with a holy calling, not according to our works, but according to His own purpose and grace, which was given us in Christ Jesus before the time of the ages [ I Timothy 1:9].
The One True and Living God called us by the gospel of God concerning Christ to the obtaining of the glory of our Lord Jesus Christ.
The Lord Jesus Christ and GOD our FATHER loved us and have given us everlasting comfort and good hope through grace [II Thessalonians 2:14,16].
It is Christ in you, the hope of glory! This is the riches of the glory of the mystery among the Gentiles [Colossians 1:27].
When we believed the gospel concerning Christ, we were saved, and sealed with the promised holy spirit, which is the down payment against the inheritance we will receive on the day of redemption [See Ephesians 1:13 and 14].
Dearly beloved of God, our citizenship is in heaven from where we look for the Savior. We are members of the household of God; the household of the One True and Living God, Who is now God our Father.
When the Lord Jesus Christ returns, he will transform our mortal and corruptible bodies so that they are like his glorious body that dies no more [Philippians 3:20, 21].
Read I Thessalonians 4: 15-18 and I Corinthians 15:51-58. These records teach us about our hope of glory that is to come. This will be the day of our redemption.
We have the victory over sin and death through our Lord Jesus Christ. The Lord Jesus Christ is only awaiting the orders from His Father to go get us and bring us home to Him in heaven.
Romans 15:13
Now the God of [the] hope fill you with all joy and peace in [the] believing, that ye may abound in [the] hope, through the power of the Holy Ghost [God].
We have the comfort and the peace and the joy that our hope in Christ brings us because the One True and Living God purposed it; He planned for it, and by the good pleasure of His Will, He will fulfill it and bring it to fruition.
Live, knowing the hope of His calling, and the riches of the glory of His inheritance is in the saints.
Live at peace, having the absolute certainty of believing that it shall be as the One True and Living God has spoken.
Live without wavering because He is faithful that called you. Walk worthy with regard to the calling to which we were called.
Nothing can stop what is coming, dearly beloved. Nothing can stop the hope of glory that we have in Christ; absolutely nothing.
Christ is coming! It shall be as He has spoken!
The God of Peace be with you always in all things.
