Grounded in Reality
Dearly beloved of God, it appears that many in our society today are not grounded in reality. They cannot tell what is true and what is not. However, we can be grounded in the reality of our salvation.
Romans 10:9-13
9 That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.
10 For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.
11 For the scripture saith, Whosoever believeth on him shall not be ashamed.
12 For there is no difference between the Jew and the Greek: for the same Lord over all is rich unto all that call upon him.
13 For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.
This is our reality. We are to do two things; confess Jesus as Lord, and believe that God raised him from the dead. Why do we confess him as Lord? Acts 2:36 reveals that God made Jesus both Lord and Christ.
There are too many references in the Bible that speak of the Lord Jesus Christ to mention all of them here. He is the Lord that saved us, that justified us, and we will be glorified with him. Jesus Christ is the Lord of the living and the dead. The Lord Jesus Christ gave us victory over sin and death.
God raised Jesus out from among all of the dead. Romans 1:4 reveals that God marked him out as the Son of God with power by the resurrection from the dead, Jesus Christ our Lord.
People read right over this verse until they realize that the Word of God declares that the Lord Jesus Christ is the only man that has been resurrected from the dead, and he dies no more.
When we lose life we call it death. Death is not only a one time occurrence, it is a continuing state. Had God not provided deliverance from death by resurrection, death would be the end of us, and we would corrupt in the grave and perish. However, God did provide deliverance from the state of death.
God committed all judgement unto his Son, and every grave will come forth at his command.
John 11:25 and 26
25 Jesus said unto her, I am the resurrection, and the life: he that believeth in me, though he were dead, yet shall he live:
26 And whosoever liveth and believeth in me shall never die. Believest thou this?
The Greek text does not agree with the King James version. It should read, “Whosoever lives and believes in me shall in no wise die forever.” Jesus Christ was speaking of having life in the age to come.
God will raise the dead in Christ. They will not remain dead forever. When he resurrects them they will live, and die no more.
I Corinthians 15:20-23 reveals that Jesus Christ was the first fruit from the dead, and those that are Christ’s will be raised at his coming.
Will the Church be judged when Christ returns? No, we have already been judged in Christ as the righteousness of God.
II Corinthians 5:21
21 For he [God] hath made him [Jesus] to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him.
There is therefore no condemnation to those who are in Christ Jesus. We will never again come unto condemnation.
The Lord Jesus Christ justified us, he saved us and we have the hope of salvation, he redeemed us, he reconciled us to God, he will come to redeem us from death or from this world, and we will be glorified with him. It is Christ in you, the hope of glory. We are completely, completely, completely, complete in him, who is the head of all principality and power, and the Father freely gives us all things with him. He blessed us in Christ with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly realm!
We should be grounded in the reality of our salvation, dearly beloved of God. Our thoughts should be on the Lord Jesus Christ and what he accomplished, not on us, not on our experiences, not on our flesh, but on him and what he accomplished and will yet accomplish. He is the Lord and there is salvation in no other.
