Christ Freed Us with Freedom
Dearly beloved of God, we just celebrated the birth of our freedom as citizens of the United States of America, but that does not compare to the freedom that Jesus Christ accomplished for us; he delivered us from the reign of sin and death over us by his resurrection out from among the dead!
Which of our God-given rights set forth in Constitution, or the Bill of Rights compares to our freedom from the reign of sin and the condemnation of death? Death no longer has dominion over us!
What compares to our being delivered from the power of darkness? That is far greater than being delivered from the servitude to a foreign despot.
In Christ, and by his accomplishments, God has given us sonship rights, privileges, and spirit ability as His beloved children. Jesus Christ justified us from the reign of the sin of Adam and the condemnation of the death it brought upon mankind.
In Christ we are justified, and we are glorified with him, also. Where Christ goes, we go all; we are members of the body of Christ, and members in particular. God our Father has freely given us all things with His beloved Son. What will He not freely give us with him?
In Christ, we now stand before God without any sense of sin, guilt, or condemnation. We were made the righteousness of God in Christ. There is therefore now no condemnation to those who are in Christ Jesus. He delivered us from the judgment and condemnation of mankind. He delivered us from the wrath to come in the Lord’s Day.
In Christ we have access to Almighty God as our Father; access! Not only do we have access, but He encourages us to come unto the throne of grace with boldness and confidence for timely help.
I thank God for the freedoms we enjoy in our country, but they are nothing compared with our liberty in Christ Jesus our Lord. Our earthly rights as citizens of the U.S. are limited by time, and sphere.
Our sonship rights are permanent and enduring, and they guarantee us of being glorified with Christ forever. We have every spiritual blessing in the heavenly realm in Christ.
Even if we should die before the Lord returns, death will not be capable of holding its prey. When the Lord returns, he will give the command, and by the vast power the Father has given him, He will raise the dead in Christ, and the living ones will be changed, and together we will be caught up to meet the Lord in the air, and so shall be ever be with him and like him; nothing will ever separate us from him!
What rights do we have as citizens of the United States that compare to our rights as the citizens of heaven? In Christ we are justified, sanctified, redeemed, saved, and glorified. We are delivered from the wrath to come.
God our Father has blessed us in Christ with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly realm. From the new birth to our inheritance in Christ we have all of it in all of us. We are completely filled in Christ who is the head of all principality and power!
When Christ returns, our new bodies will have eternal life; they will be fashioned like unto his glorious body. We will reign with him forever and ever.
We will see him subdue every enemy. We will see God make all things new again in the third heaven and third earth, in which there will be the paradise of God.
God will wipe away all tears form our eyes. God Himself will dwell with His people and be our God. There shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things will pass away. He will make all things new again, dearly beloved.
We have the greatest earthly document of freedom we could possibly have at the hand of man, but it does not compare to the Word of God that declares our freedom in Christ.
II Corinthians 3:17 and 18 WT
Now the lord is that spirit: and where the spirit from the lord is there is freedom.
So as we with unveiled face behold as in a mirror the glory of the lord, we are all transfigured into the same image from glory to glory, even as by the spirit from the lord.
Rejoice! “Christ freed us with freedom.” What can compare to our freedom in Christ? Stand fast in the freedom.
Christ is coming; who knows, it may be today, dearly beloved of God. As citizens of heaven rejoice until he comes!
