Class Warfare
Dearly beloved of God, class warfare exists in our country, and around the world.
There are two classes of people in our society. These classes are not defined by your economic standing. They are not defined by your political affiliation. They are not defined by the color of your skin. They are not defined by your sex, whether male or female.
These two classes of people are comprised of those who confess Jesus as Lord, and believe that God raised him from the dead (they are saved, born again of the spirit from God, and they are the godly), and the other class are the ungodly, who reject the grace of God shown to us in Christ Jesus (their end will be destruction).
There are only two classes of people: godly and ungodly.
What is godliness? The Greek word is “eusebeia,” the opposite of “threskeia,” religion. Godliness is a real, true, vital, and spiritual relationship with God: while “threskeia” relates to outward acts of religious observances or ceremonies, which are performed by the flesh.
Godliness is a relationship with God based on spirit, not by any works of the flesh.
Romans 8:8
So then they that are in the flesh cannot please God.
That is as clear as it gets. Nothing in the flesh nature of man pleases God. Nothing in the flesh makes one godly.
Romans 8:9 and 10
9 But you are not in the flesh, but in the spirit since the spirit from God dwells in you. If anyone does not have the spirit, that is to say, Christ, then he does not belong to him,
10 but since Christ dwells in you, then the body [the old nature] is indeed dead because of sin, but the spirit is life because of justness.
Jesus Christ said we must be born again; born of the spirit from God if we were to enter the kingdom of God. He said, John indeed baptized with water, but you will be baptized with the holy spirit. He said that he would send the promise of the Father.
Then, in Acts 2:38, Peter said, “Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins and, you shall receive the gift of holy spirit.” Read Romans 10:9, also.
Receiving the gift of holy spirit in the new birth gives a person a real, true, vital, spiritual relationship with God.
Romans 8:11
If the spirit from Him Who raised Jesus from the dead dwells in you, then He Who raised Christ from the dead will also give life to your mortal bodies because of His spirit dwelling in you.
God is now your Father, and you are His beloved child, and you are highly favored in His sight.
Romans 8:15-17
15 So you have not received a spirit of bondage to again cause fear, but you have received a spirit of sonship [making you sons], whereby we shout, “Abba,” that is, “Father.”
16 The spirit itself bears witness with own spirit that we are children of God,
17 and since we are children, then we are heirs also: first of all heirs of God and secondly joint heirs with Christ, so that if we do suffer together, we shall also be glorified together as heirs.
Dearly beloved, walk in the complete reality of your sonship. You are born of the spirit from God, and you can manifest it for godly profit. You have sonship rights, and privileges as a child of God, and you have a tremendous inheritance laid up in heaven for you.
Rejoice, and walk in the reality of your godliness, dearly beloved.
Look up all the uses of godliness. I Timothy 2:2, 10; 3:16; 4:7, 8; 6:3,5,6, 11; II Timothy 3:5; Titus 1:1; II Peter 1:3,6,7; and 3:11.
I Timothy 6:3 and 4a
If anyone preaches otherwise, and consents not to wholesome words, even the word of our Lord Jesus Christ, and to the doctrine which is according to godliness, he is proud and knows nothing….
Dearly beloved, you are in the right class since you are in Christ, so exercise yourself unto godliness. We do not war after the flesh.
You have put on the new man, which is renewed in knowledge after the image of Him That created him: where there is neither Greek nor Jew, circumcision nor uncircumcision, Barbarian, Scythian, bond nor free: but Christ is all, and in all.
