That God
Dearly beloved of God, there are two ways in which we can live. We can live the way of the world, or we can live by believing what God says.
“Trust in the Lord with all your heart; and lean not unto your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge Him, and He shall direct your paths.” Proverbs 3:5 and 6
We can learn from the world, or we can study God’s Word and learn from the Creator of the heavens and the earth; the Creator of all living.
We could trust “that God” and acknowledge the understanding He gives us, trust Him with all our heart, and allow Him to direct our paths.
How could one say that he trusts God if he does not acknowledge what He says? Are we acknowledging Him if we do not trust Him? The answer is obvious; no.
God instructs us that we are to walk with Him by believing; by believing what He says. The right way of believing comes by hearing, by hearing the Word of God. He imparts His wisdom to us with His Word and by His spirit.
One would think that having access to the wisdom of the Creator of the heavens and the earth, and of all living would be quite profitable.
The wisdom from the One True and Living God Who created the heavens and the earth, life, and every law that governs their operation is vastly superior to the world’s wisdom.
“That God” says to trust Him with all your heart, and do not lean unto your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge Him, and He shall direct your paths.
Furthermore that God, the Creator of the heavens and the earth, the Creator of life, and of all the sciences and the laws that govern them; “that God” says if we lack wisdom, just ask Him in believing, and He will give it to us.
We are constantly hammered with world wisdom from every source imaginable while the world ignores the wisdom of God.
The One True and Living God offers to direct our paths. “That God” offers direction that will profit us, direction that will provide us with a more abundant life, direction that applies to all things that pertain to life and godliness.
When we are faced with a crossroad in our lives, He will direct us to the way that is most profitable to us. All we have to do is trust Him with all our heart, and not lean to our own understanding. In all our ways acknowledge Him, and He will direct our paths.
“That God” has given us great and precious promises that by these we might be partakers of the divine nature, having escaped the corruption that is in the world through lust.
By His divine power, “that God” has given unto us all things that pertain to life and godliness through His knowledge. He has given us great and precious promises indeed!
Can the wisdom of the world direct a person to eternal life? Can that wisdom promise deliverance from the grave, and a glorious new body like Christ’s? Can the wisdom of the world heal diseases that it declares are incurable? Can it heal the brokenhearted, or can it provide peace to a troubled soul? Can world wisdom provide all sufficiency in all things all the time to a person in need? God’s wisdom can do all these things.
Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and lean not unto your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge Him, and He shall direct your paths.
The Lord is “that God” and He is our God; He is our Father. He is willing to supply us with all things liberally to enjoy. Why not take Him up on His offer, dearly beloved?
