The Importance of Jesus Christ’s Resurrection
Dearly beloved of God, how important is the resurrection of Jesus Christ our Lord?
His resurrection is the foundation for the gospel of God concerning Jesus Christ our Lord and what he accomplished.
Without Jesus Christ’s resurrection out from among all the dead people we would not be saved. See Romans 1:1-4; 10:9; I Peter 1:3-9
The resurrection of Jesus Christ is the reason that the dead in Christ who are members of his body, the Church, will also be raised out from among the dead people as he was. See Romans 6:5-11;
I Corinthians 15: 1-23 and 35-49 and 50-58; I Thessalonians 4:15-18
Without Jesus Christ’s resurrection out from among the dead people there would be no Christianity; we would yet be dead in sin, without God, and without hope.
If he was not raised we would not be redeemed, justified, sanctified, nor glorified with Christ when he returns. We would not have an entrance into the kingdom of God by being born again of God’s spirit.
If he was not raised we would not be the children of God who are dearly beloved and highly favored in our Father’s sight. We would not have been blessed by God our Father with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly realm in Christ.
If Christ was not resurrected from the dead we would have no hope; only a sentence of condemnation and death, and our destiny would be to partake of the wrath of God.
But, dearly beloved, God did raise His Son from the dead, and He made him both Lord and Christ.
The Lord Jesus Christ received of the Father the promise of the holy spirit, and he shed it forth on the Day of Pentecost for all who believed on him.
Those who believe in Jesus Christ our Lord are sealed with that holy spirit of promise. That holy spirit is the down payment of our inheritance, which we will receive when Christ returns to redeem those that he purchased with his life, unto to the praise of God’s glory.
Without the resurrection of Jesus Christ out from among the state of death, we would not be healed by his stripes, we would not be more than conquerors through him that loved us, we would not have all sufficiency in all things all the time, we would not have access to the throne of grace to find timely help in our time of need, we would not have the nine manifestations of the spirit provide us godly profit, and so much more.
None of these things would be available to us had God not raised Jesus Christ our Lord from the dead.
Very few Christians understand that Jesus Christ is the only man to be resurrected out from among the dead people and from the state of death, that he dies no more because death no longer has dominion over him. He has the victory over sin and death because of his death and resurrection.
The Lord Jesus Christ is alive forevermore, and he has the power over death and the state of death. God his Father has given him the power to raise those in every grave; some to eternal life and some to damnation.
Jesus Christ is the only man to be resurrected out from among the dead and to ascend into heaven so far; we will follow at his coming to gather us up to him in the air whether we are yet living, or we have fallen asleep.
How important is his resurrection out from among the dead? All that we believe and hope for is based on his resurrection, dearly beloved.
