The Power of the Resurrection
Dearly beloved of God, the events surrounding Jesus Christ’s resurrection from the dead are thrilling to say the least. For the first and only time in history, a human being, the second Adam, Jesus Christ was raised to life after being dead for three days and three nights – never to die again.
God, Jesus Christ's Father, validated that he was indeed His Son by raising him out from among all the other dead people!
The Lord Jesus Christ’s new body was no longer mortal and subject to death. He was the first fruit from the dead, and when he comes again to gather his Church, His Father has given him the power to raise the dead in Christ to life and transfigure us to have glorious bodies like his glorious body.
When the Lord arose from the dead, he sat up right through about a hundred pounds of linen cloth and aromatic herbs that were like shellac.
He could suddenly appear to his disciples while they were behind closed doors, or vanish out of sight as he did on the road to Emmaus.
He could veil his identity or make himself known to people. He could eat as he did with his disciples the first day of week at evening.
He could even travel into the heavenly realm to witness his triumphant victory to the spirits in prison, or ascend into the heavenlies and take his seat at God’s right side in his resurrected body. His new body had no limitations; and we will be like him.
The Lord Jesus said, “All power [authority] is given unto me in heaven and in earth. Go ye therefore, and make disciples of all nations [The rest of the verse was not in the Greek texts and was added much later]. Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you always, even unto the end of the world [age]. Amen.”
It is a disgrace that so much of the reality of Christianity for which Jesus Christ gave his life and the power he made available to the Church has been perverted by denominational teachings and religious traditions.
If people would take God at His Word and believe the Word of Truth that He revealed for our believing they would see deliverance today as they did when Christ walked the earth.
Jesus Christ came to make the promise of the Father available to everyone that believed on him. The Lord Jesus said that the promise of the Father is power from on high. Jesus Christ sent this power from on high on the Feast of Pentecost, which is also known as the Feast of Harvest. This power is latent in the gift from the Holy Spirit.
The Lord Jesus said, “Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believes on Me, the works that I do shall he do also; and greater [works] than these shall he do; because I go unto My Father.”
This power is latent within every person who believes in the Lord Jesus Christ. Every believer in Christ is capable of doing the works he did and greater because of the ability, the power from on high resident in the gift of holy spirit that is born within us.
There is only one gift of holy spirit. This one gift can be manifested for nine various godly profits. This ability is latent in the gift until a person decides to manifest it.
As God’s children, we can receive revelation: the manifestations of the spirit of word of knowledge, word of wisdom, and discerning of spirits.
We can impart God’s deliverance by operating the manifestations of believing, miracles, and gifts of healings; and we operate the worship manifestations in the Church: we can speak in tongues in our private prayer life and speak directly to God. We can speak in tongues and interpret and prophesy when we are gathered together for public worship.
Jesus Christ operated seven of these manifestations of the spirit. When he sent this power from on high, he made two more manifestations of the spirit available to us: speaking in tongues and interpretation of tongues.
Speaking in tongues is God’s proof to you that you His child, you have eternal life and shall never again come into condemnation. Who would not want to have the proof that we have eternal life?
It is only erroneous religious teaching inspired by the liar, the deceiver of the world, the old serpent the devil that has queered this tremendous reality in the lives of God’s people.
Rejoice, dearly beloved, we are the children of God! We have the power inherent in the gift of holy spirit which the Lord Jesus Christ came to make available, we can operate it to bring deliverance to people as he did, and we can truly worship God via the spirit as Jesus Christ prophesied because of his resurrection out from among the dead and by his sending the promise of the Father.
We can do the greater works the Lord Jesus spoke of by holding forth the Word of Life so that people can be saved, born of God’s spirit and have eternal life. This was not available until after God raised his Son from the dead and he ascended into heaven and He seated him at His right hand in the heavenly realm.
Rejoice forevermore; Christ is coming to save and redeem us from this evil world and even from death itself, and to save us from the wrath to come.
Until then, dearly beloved, hold forth the Word of Life which is able to save those who believe it. God seals them for eternal life with His spirit and enables them to do the works that Christ did when he was on earth and greater!
Rejoice and live in thanksgiving to the Father for sending Jesus Christ so that we can have life through the power of his resurrection form the dead. Thank God for His unspeakable gift!
