There is Only One Question

Dearly beloved of God, the tempter confronts people with “Is it written? Yea, did God really say such and such?” The Lord Jesus responded to him when he was tempted by him in the wilderness with, “It is written,” and he quoted him what God said. The only question we need answered is, “What is written?”

If you know someone who knows more about spiritual matters than the Lord Jesus Christ, then by all means, listen to them.

Everything out of the adversary’s mouth is a lie; he is the father of lies and there is no truth in him. If you decide to listen to him, he will deceive you with his craftiness to the end you are corrupted from the simplicity and integrity that is in Christ Jesus and his accomplishments.

He talked Adam and Eve, the first man and woman, out of God’s Word before they had sinned, and their deception brought mankind under the condemnation of death dealing sin; do you think you can fare better than they did?

He promised them they would be as gods knowing good and evil, (as though evil would be an improvement of the goodness of God showed them in the garden of paradise).

How did that work out for them? Did they become as gods? No, when they believed the serpent’s lie it became their ruin. They lost the spirit life that God created them in. Their environment was cursed, thorned, and thistled and Adam labored in sorrow until he returned to the ground from whence he was taken. Human history has attested to this reality ever since their fall.

The old serpent, the devil, comes off as an angel of light, but he is not light; he is only darkness. Resist the devil and he will flee. Stand on God's Word by believing it.

Give thanks to the Father, dearly beloved, who has made us adequate for a share of the inheritance of the saints in the light; He has delivered us from the power of darkness, and has transferred us into the kingdom of His dearly beloved Son, in whom we have redemption through his blood, even the forgiveness of sins.

The transfer into the kingdom of God’s beloved Son has begun; we are born of his spirit today, sealed for the inheritance of eternal life.

The completion of the transfer into the kingdom will take place on the day of redemption when God sends the Lord Jesus Christ to gather us up to him, raising the dead in Christ to life again and transforming those of us who are yet living so that we both will have glorious bodies like his glorious body. Together we will meet him in the air and forever be with him and like him.

From that point on we will have fullness of joy and pleasures forevermore! We will no longer in any way be subject to the power of darkness. Christ Jesus the Lord will assert his authority and power and perform His Father’s will.

All that the adversary has stolen from us will be restored and so much more. Eternity is much longer than the trial of our believing we endure today.

We will see the day that God will wipe away all tears from our eyes, and there will be no more death, no more sorrow, nor crying, neither will there be any more pain, for the former things will pass away into the glorious new heaven and new earth in which God will reign in righteousness forever.

He told us the end from the beginning; His counsels of old are faithfulness and truth. “Write,” He said, “for My Word is true and faithful.”

Oh, that it were today; but fear not, dearly beloved, “It is written!”

Our hope of glory is laid up for us in heaven and it fades not away; it is reserved by the power of God and His Son. Our end is salvation; we have been delivered from the wrath of God that will come upon the wicked and ungodly of this evil world.

“And who, as I, shall call, and shall declare it, and set it in order for Me, since I appointed the ancient People? And the things that are coming, and shall come, let them show unto them. Fear you not, neither be afraid: have not I told thee from that time, and have declared it? You are even My witnesses. Is there a GOD beside Me? Yea, there is no God; I know not any.” Isaiah 44:7 and 8

“Knowing this first, that there shall come in the last days scoffers, walking after their own lusts, and saying, 'Where is the promise of his coming? For since the fathers fell asleep, all things continue as they were from the beginning of creation.' For this they willingly are ignorant of, that by the word of God the heavens were of old, and the earth standing out of the water and in the water: whereby the world that then was, being overflowed with water, perished: but the heavens and earth which are now, by the same word are kept in store, reserved unto fire against the day of judgment and perdition of ungodly men.
But beloved, be not ignorant of this one thing, that one day is with the LORD as a thousand years, and a thousand years as one day. The LORD is not slack concerning His promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance.” II Peter 3:3-8

Read what is written! Read I Thessalonians 4:16-18 and Philippians 3:20 and 21 written to the Church of the Grace of God and 5:1-11 concerning the Lord's Day that will follow it. Read I Corinthians 15:20-28. Read Ephesians 1:9-14. Read Romans 8:16-25

"Heaven and earth shall pass away, but My words shall not pass away. But of that day, and hour knows no man, no, not the angels of heaven, neither the Son, but My Father only." Mark 13:32. It is written, and so it shall be.

“It stands written” by Almighty God, the Creator of the heavens and the earth and nothing and no one can stop Him from performing all His will. There is no question about His Word coming to pass!

He is our Father and we are His dearly beloved children. Rejoice in our hope that is in Christ Jesus our Lord. He is coming!
