Where Would We Be?
Dearly beloved of God, where would we be today if we did not have the Word of the LORD?
Without the Word of the LORD, which is the gospel concerning the Lord Jesus Christ, we would not know the will of God. We would not have a knowledge of salvation. We would not know the treasures of wisdom and knowledge concerning the Mystery of God concerning Christ.
Without God’s revelation concerning mystery of Christ people would only know about the Old Covenant of the Law. They would think that God still only works with Israel.
Without the revelation of the Mystery, the Gentiles would have nothing to do with the One True God; they would have no hope. There would be no Church of the Grace of God. At best, Gentiles could only be proselytes of Judaism.
The Word of the LORD is revelation received from God. It reveals the will of God to us. Today the Word of the LORD is the gospel concerning the Lord Jesus Christ.
Read Acts 11:16; 13:46-49, and Acts 19:10; I Thessalonians 1:8 and 3:1. See I Thessalonians 4:15 and I Peter 1:23-25 to mention of few references concerning the Word of the LORD in the New Testament.
Had God not given Noah His Word where would we be today? We would not be here! We would have missed the boat (Laugh, that is a joke).
Giants of wickedness occupied the earth in defiance of God in Noah's day. It was so bad that it repented God that He had made man. The earth was corrupt, for all flesh had corrupted God's way; but Noah found grace in the eyes of the Lord.
God revealed His Word to Noah, and Noah believed it.
God gave Noah the revelation to build an ark which would provide deliverance for him and his family.
Noah believed the Word of the LORD while the rest of the world laughed at him, derided him, and scoffed at him as though he was a fool, but his believing of God's Word to him was not in vain.
It doesn't much matter what the ungodly of the earth think when God is for you. Noah was warned of God and instructed to build the ark. He became heir of the righteousness which is by believing.
God hasn't changed. He still respects those who believe what He says. He still leads and guides us. He warns those who listen to Him. He walks with those who have His spirit and believe His Word. He still hears and answers our prayers.
God is not a respecter of persons but of believing. He respects those who take Him at His Word.
By the Word of the LORD we know the mystery of God’s Will concerning Christ. By the Word of the LORD we know the new birth realities and the hope of our calling. By the Word of the LORD we know God as our Father.
By the Word of the LORD we know that God called us to obtain the glory of the Lord Jesus Christ. We know that He blessed us in Christ with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly realm. We know that It is now Christ in you, the hope of glory. We know that we are complete in Christ Jesus.
Where would we be without the Word of the LORD today? We would be ignorant, destroyed for a lack of knowledge, and have no hope.
Without the Word of the LORD we would wander aimlessly through life not knowing God the Father, nor knowing His will concerning us.
Without the Word of the LORD there would have been no Noah, no Abraham, no Moses, nor the prophets. There would have been no Peter, nor Paul. They received the Word of the LORD which changed the course of history.
When the LORD God speaks it shall be as He has spoken.
Not a single word God has spoken has failed. He is all powerful, and He is able and willing to perform His Word, from the new birth realities to the hope of our calling.
Never underestimate the Word of the LORD. The Word of God does not only record history, it makes history.
God gave us His Word for our believing, and believing it can change the course of history. Where would we be without the Word of the LORD?
