A New Creation
Dearly beloved of God, we are God’s workmanship, created in Christ Jesus. We are a new creation in Christ Jesus. The spirit of God born in us. That which is born of the flesh is flesh, and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit. What we received in the new birth is a new creation; it never existed before God created it in us. Now we share in the Divine nature.
We read in the Old Testament that at times God put His spirit upon people, but it was on relatively few. They were not born of that spirit, nor did it give them everlasting life.
Today the holy spirit is born in everyone that confesses Jesus as Lord and believes that God raised him from the dead. It is a new creation. Today, that spirit is life; everlasting life.
We received a spirit of sonship, and the spirit witnesses to our inner being that we are the children of God! Dear ones, as many as are led by the spirit of God, these are the sons of God. The natural man cannot be led by the spirit from God, but we are!
Behold what manner of love the Father has shown us that we should be called the sons of God… and so we are! Beloved, right now today we are the sons of God, and it does not appear what we shall be: but we know that when Christ Jesus the Lord appears, we shall be like him; for we shall see him as he is.
We became sons of God the day we were born of His spirit, we no longer wait for this reality. When Christ returns, he will transform our mortal bodies to be like his glorious body. What began with the birth will reach the maturity of the full grown Christ at his coming to gather us together unto him.
The Lord Jesus Christ said, “Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that heareth my word, and believeth on him that sent me, hath everlasting life, and shall not come into condemnation; but is passed from death unto life.” John 5:24
Now we walk in newness of life, the spirit life in the new birth, the spirit of life in Christ Jesus; it is everlasting life.
Adam’s sin brought the loss of spirit life so that all men were dead in sin and came under its reign, but Jesus Christ’s obedience to God brought the gift of righteousness. It is spirit life. The sin of Adam reigned unto death, now grace reigns through righteousness unto eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord!
You are in Christ Jesus, dearly beloved, walk in this newness of life. Walk in the complete sonship reality that is yours in Christ, which includes sonship rights, the privileges it affords us as the sons of God, and the ability it has to produce the nine manifestations of the spirit; it is power from on high. All of it is yours by the grace of God, dear ones.
Thank God for His unspeakable gift; it is indescribable, too wonderful for words! We truly are God's workmanship, created in Christ Jesus on the basis of his good works that therein we may walk.
