Be Confident in Him

Dearly beloved of God, our God is the Father of mercies and the God of all comfort. He is present to deliver us as we face the pressures of life, even from death itself.

God created the heavens and the earth. He raised Jesus Christ from the dead. He made eternal life available through Jesus Christ. There is nothing too hard for Him. When we believe what He says, we can be confident that He is able and willing to perform it.

“For no promise from God will be impossible of fulfillment.” Luke 1:37 Weymouth

The word translated “nothing” means, “every word”. The statement emphasizes that nothing God says is impossible for Him to perform.

God has the power to perform what He promises, and He obligated Himself to do it. He committed Himself to His Word. He is the power behind His Word; He is almighty in power and we can trust Him to bring it to pass.

God’s Word is His binding pledge that He will do what He says He will do. He will not fail to perform anything that He has promised. We have His Word on it.

Believing God at His Word is always a present tense reality. Hope, on the other hand, believes God’s Word concerning future realities.

“Now faith [believing] is the assurance of things hoped for, the conviction of things not seen. For by it the men of old received divine approval. By faith [believing] we understand that the world was created by the word of God, so that what is seen was made out of things which do not appear.” Hebrews 11:1 - 3 Nestle-Aland

This entire chapter is a Divine history of men and women who believed God at His Word. How did these men receive God’s approval? Verse 6 says:

“And without faith [believing] it is impossible to please him. For whoever would draw near to God must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who seek him.”

God rewards those who diligently seek Him the same as He recompensed the men and women that believed in Hebrews 11. God rewarded them by fulfilling His Word. This chapter is the Divine History of believing God according to His Word.

The records in the Bible give us example after example of people who believed God at His Word. These people may have lived in different times and places, but they were people just like us.

They were confronted with circumstances and situations orchestrated by the adversary the same as we are today. God delivered them, and He will deliver us from the obstacles we may face today if we will take Him at His Word and believe it. He supplied us with these records so that we can be confident in Him.

Cast not away your confidence, dearly beloved; it has great recompense of reward.

Our God is the Father of mercies and the God of all comfort, and He will absolutely deliver you according to His Word. You can count on it!
